The Close Ups Collection was realized when I found myself getting lost in the details of the flowers I was painting. I loved how, when I zoomed in, the painting almost became abstract. I really wanted the viewer to get lost in the beauty of the flower as well, and to really pay attention to all of the small things that make up a flower. The twists and turns of this dahlia remind me of the moves I make when waking up for the day and turning my face towards the sun.
