I painted this piece around Mother’s Day and I couldn’t help but see the parallels to a mother and child. I was a young mom when I went to art school and a lot of my subject matter had to do with this theme. It’s cool to see it carried over into my floral paintings. There is a protective tenderness to these tulips that I just love.
